What type of art classes are these?
Master Oamie studied a broad range of art mediums and techniques because his Master taught him that each type of art strengthens an artists skill and understanding of the others.
For example, when you learn sculpture, it benefits your drawing and painting skills bettering your understanding of shadow and light theory and improves your ability to render three dimensional images.
These classes are designed to teach students all the major visual arts and therefore turn them into a Master Artist, because a Master Artist is familiar with all materials and art forms.
What is the teacher to student ratio per class?
For children ages 4 – 8 the ratio is 1:5.
Art students ages 9-17 the ratio is 1:10.
If you prefer having a smaller class size consider having your child attend an evening class or signing up for One on Ones.
Do the students get to choose their art projects?
Students must complete the first project before they can start choosing which projects they would like to work on.
Some projects have prerequisites such as other projects that must be completed before or also age limits.
We believe students should have a lot of decision making especially when it comes to their subject matter.
How long does each project take?
Master Omar was taught by strict artists that believe that children should finish what they start.
Some projects take more time; some take less time; some students take longer than others.
Each student has a maximum of 12 weeks to complete a project. After which it will be up to the parent to decide if their child should continue that project at the studio or at home.
The student does not achieve passing the level until they present a completed and approve project to their teacher.
