Nothing impresses your audience more than creating an accurate portrait. At this level we will learn how to draw portraits and study the underlying anatomy of the human head. This will include learning about the general proportations of the face and the structure of the skull. Expressions and angels will also be undertaken so that we can become more dynamic in our porttrait illustrations.

Master Oamie’s Thoughts

I think Rembrandt still holds the record for famous self portraits.

Gestures & Bones

This section will cover different styles of gestures and the human skeleton. Whats the difference? The gesture has general proportions that an artist needs to memorize so they can rapidly and accurately sketch out the posture of their subject. When we study the bones of the human skeleton we will will go into detail understanding the different bones and their range of movement. This overall will strengthen your over all ability to figure draw and also be more creative when doing creature creation.

Master Oamie’s Thoughts

My master teacher did not believe that studying the underlying anatomy was important. That was definitely a point of disagreement between us and so I went out of my way to seek the resources to learn about the skeletal structure and had him teach me anyhow.

Figures & Muscles

Finally we get to studying the muscles and figure. Learning the mnuscular systems will help you to create traditional comic hereos, improve your figure drawing abilites and hopefully inspire you to workout, lol. Through a series of exercises, we will workon, not out, your understanding of the muscles. We will then practice and create a project that includes the human figure.

Master Oamie’s Thoughts

When I was attending the italian art school in florence, I had daily three hour sessions of live figure drawing. Thats some serious studying.
