Attendance & Makeups
New reporting rule begins October 1, 2026Beginning October 1
Reported Absence
One class credit is used and one makeup credit is added after the missed class is completed.
Unreported Absence
One class credit is used. A makeup credit is not added.
Student Arrives
If a student arrives after being reported absent, normal attendance applies and no makeup credit is created.
Studio Cancellation
No class credit is used and no makeup credit is needed.
How dated makeups work
- Report the original absence at least 3 hours before class.
- After the absence is completed, the makeup credit appears on the account.
- Choose a dated makeup class in Parent Dashboard.
- If a seat is open, the visit is scheduled automatically. If the class is full, the request waits for an opening.
- The scheduled visitor appears on the studio calendar and in the attendance game for that date.
A reported absence releases only that day’s seat. It does not remove the student from their regular class.
Transition period
Through September 30, 2026, ArtQuest will continue the previous makeup conversion for unreported absences and send a reminder about the new reporting process. The new consequence starts October 1, 2026.
Documented system problems and studio cancellations will be reviewed as exceptions.
Credit expiration
Beginning September 15, 2026, unused class and makeup credits on an inactive account remain available for 90 days. The student must return to an active ArtQuest class within that period to retain and use the credits.
Credits on accounts that were already inactive before September 15, 2026, remain available through December 15, 2026.
Unused credits expire after the applicable deadline and cannot be refunded, transferred, redeemed for cash, or restored after expiration. Oam Studios may review documented extraordinary circumstances and exceptions required by law.
